OPRAH 2020! NBC, Liberal Media, Promote Oprah Winfrey for President Over Golden Globes Speech (Update: Stedman says ‘Absolutely’ open to running)

NBC News and others in the media are promoting Oprah Winfrey for president over her appearance and speech at Sunday’s Golden Globe awards broadcast where she received the Cecil B. DeMille award.

UPDATE:Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman spoke to Winfrey’s longterm companion Stedman Graham after the show, “I asked Stedman if @oprah would run for President. “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it.”

Oprah Winfrey speaks at the 50th anniversary commemoration of the March on Washington, August 28, 2013 at the Lincoln Memorial attended by President Barack Obama.

NBC, which broadcast the Golden Globes, posted a tweet saying, “Nothing but respect for OUR future president. #GoldenGlobes” over a GIF of a smiling Winfrey.

Esquire followed with, “Nothing but respect for the 46th President of the United States”.

Mashable, “Oprah’s Golden Globes speech has us all begging her to run for president”.

MSNBC’s Joy Ann Reid, “Switched back to the Golden Globes to watch Oprah get her award. Never let it be said that I don’t respect the president of the United States.”

W Magazine, “Oprah for President.”

I24News anchor David Shuster, ““A new day is on the horizon…”. @Oprah speech at #GoldenGlobes2018 was a tour de force. It underscores why so many political pros believe Oprah, if she ran, would easily become America’s first woman President. And it wouldn’t matter who the opponent is… #Oprah2020”

FOX4KC, “Seriously why can’t @Oprah be our president?
#GoldenGlobes18 ^SE”

Winfrey’s speech that has got liberals wanting her to run for president.

The Hollywood Reporter reported on Winfrey’s speech.

Excerpt:

She added, “It is not lost on me that at this moment, there are some little girls watching as I become the first black woman to be given the same award. It is an honor and it is a privilege to share the evening with all of them.”

Winfrey continued her speech by calling out a press that is “under siege” and a climate where women are being empowered to speak up and say “Me too” — and men are listening.

“I want to say that I value the press more than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times, which brings me to this: What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have, and I’m especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories,” she said.

Turning talk to the sexual harassment prevention initiative Time’s Up and the many women who are backing the movement and who were in the room, Winfrey explained that their fight transcends Hollywood.

“I want, tonight, to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue,” she continued to a rapt audience. “They’re the women whose names we’ll never know.”

Those names include Recy Taylor, who died 10 days ago, just shy of her 98th birthday and without justice. Taylor was walking home from church in 1944 when she was abducted and raped by six white men. The attack, in the Jim Crow era, never went to trial and became a catalyst for the civil rights movement.

“For too long women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men, but their time is up,” she said to loud cheers. Eleven years after being called upon to investigate Taylor’s case, Rose Parks refused to obey a bus driver and that choice “is now in every woman saying ‘Me Too,’ and every man who chooses to listen,” said Winfrey.

She continued, earning her second ovation: “I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘Me too’ again.”

UPDATE: Meryl Streep endorses Winfrey for president, Stedman Graham says…”absolutely…”

“Asked Meryl Streep what she thought of Oprah’s speech. Her answer: “She launched a rocket tonight. I want her to run for president. I don’t think she had any intention [of declaring]. But now she doesn’t have a choice.”

“I asked Stedman if @oprah would run for President. “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it.”

Wikileaks: Clinton Foundation Had $190,000 Pay Gap Between Men and Women

In July 2016 Hillary Clinton traveled to South Carolina where she attacked the Republican candidates on equal pay for women.

Hillary’s campaign said Mrs. Bill Clinton was the candidate for women.

It was a good speech.
Too bad she didn’t mean a word of it.

Women were $190,000 less than men at the Clinton Foundation.
$190,000!

And the Hillary people all knew this.

Hillary also paid women more than women in her senate office.

‘Family Guy:’ Nancy Reagan Turned ‘Blind Eye to AIDS Crisis’

Suffering Hollywood Actress Wears ‘Poverty Is Sexist’ Shirt at Golden Globes… That Costs Around $380

This is the type of deep thinking in Hollywood today.

Actress, singer and producer Connie Britton wore a “poverty is sexist” T-shirt at the Golden Globes.

Tell that to the starving Africans.

And the media cheered her for her courage.

The sweater costs around $380… So we know Connie is not suffering.

For the record… homelessness mostly impacts men.

The Border Wall Transitions Into The Border Fence

I don’t know what the purpose of these border wall prototypes are supposed to be when the GOP Congress is only proposing to build a 316 mile fence over 10 years:

“I wholeheartedly agree with Donald Trump from back in 2015. There is a BIG difference between a wall and a fence. But the proposals released by the U.S. government this week are in stark contrast with POTUS’s promises. This is the nullification project at work.

The Trump administration will request $18 billion over a 10-year period for 316 miles of fencing, and for a reinforcement of 407 miles where barriers are already in place. This is less than half the U.S. border, and less than half of the strength of a real brick and mortar wall — as Mick Mulvaney was touting earlier this year.

The administration was warned by supportive voices as far back as May that this wouldn’t do, but it appears that at least through 2027, this is their idea for a wall. …

In American parlance, The Deplorables are “getting rolled”.

They don’t even expect this DACA deal to go anywhere. Senate Democrats aren’t going to vote for even this pathetic fence. Senate Republicans aren’t going to fund it either. They will have a big public fight over it for their respective bases. It will be more time-tested kabuki theater. Then each side will blame the other for the failure and use it as a talking point in the 2018 midterms.

Gun-Hating Hollywood Elitists Surrounded by ‘Strongest Security Ever’ at Golden Globes

The LAPD cleared a 4-mile zone from Santa Monica Blvd all the way past the Beverley Hilton in order to protect the self-congratulating Hollywood elitists attending the Golden Globe Awards Sunday.

Hollywood hypocrites love the protections gun provide only if they are used to protect them. ‘Gun control for thee, but not for me’.

Deadline reported:

Guests driving to the Hilton from Santa Monica were subject to trunk checks and mirror “bomb” checks underneath their vehicles. LAPD had several CBRN Hazmat and K-9 SUVs parked alongside the Hilton on the Santa Monica Boulevard side.

As for inside the hotel: Be sure you have a badge if you plan to cross the lobby. There are various internal security checkpoints inside the Hilton. While it’s common to go through a badge clearance heading to the backstage press area, hotel guests were being scanned coming off the elevator into the lobby, as well as traversing to the pool side of the hotel. The layout for the Globes is far more strategic in its security than at the Microsoft Piazza for the Emmys.

Al Roker tweeted, “I have never seen security like this for the Checkpoint after checkpoint. They are not kidding around. And that’s good.”

Security tighter than ever…

White House Preparing For Chinese Trade Crackdown

Finally, the Trump administration is planning to roll out some tariffs on Chinese imports:

“President Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to unveil an aggressive trade crackdown in the coming weeks that is likely to include new tariffs aimed at countering China’s and other economic competitors’ alleged unfair trade practices, according to three administration officials.

Trump is tentatively scheduled to meet with Cabinet secretaries and senior advisers as soon as this week to begin finalizing decisions on a slew of pending trade fights involving everything from imports of steel and solar panels to Chinese policies regarding intellectual property, according to one of the administration officials. …

“Broad restrictions would almost certainly be met with retaliation and potentially challenged at the World Trade Organization. It could also trigger copycat actions, with other countries closing their markets to American goods in the name of national security. …”

This is good news.

Like the ban on transsexuals in the military though, it remains to be seen what will ultimately come of this. We’ve ceded authority over our trade policy to the WTO:

“Second, and relatedly, broad retaliatory tariffs under Section 301 would almost certainly be challenged by China at the WTO and could actually result in a WTO panel ruling that both the tariffs and the law itself were inconsistent with the United States’ WTO obligations. …”

Is this going to be another base hit followed by an out on second base? It really depends on how far the Trump administration is willing to go to reassert American sovereignty.

Note: We’re not expecting a trade war so much as a fireworks show.

Federal Probe Deepens – Grand Jury Takes Testimonies in Jane Sanders’ College Land Deal

A grand jury has been empaneled and taken sworn testimony regarding Jane Sanders’ controversial land deal that led to her being ousted as the president of Burlington College.

The VT Digger reports that former Burlington College board member Robin Lloyd says she testified for about an hour on Oct. 26 before a grand jury at the federal courthouse in Burlington.

Federal authorities have been investigating the $10 million sale of about 33 acres of property by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington to Burlington College to relocate.

Lloyd was reportedly questioned by Paul Van de Graaf, chief of the criminal division for the U.S. attorney’s office in Vermont, about her role as the development chair of the college’s board of trustees as Sanders was collecting donations and pledges to purchase the lavish property.

“They said this is not about you,” Lloyd told the VT Digger. “I wasn’t offered immunity, but I was also assured that I didn’t need to feel I had something to worry about.”

The outlet reported that there are at least five other people Federal Bureau of Investigation or Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation have interviewed, but they did not respond to requests for comment.

To obtain a loan for the deal, the college, under Sanders’ leadership, claimed that they would be receiving $2.6 million in donations as well as increased enrollment. David V. Dunn, a Burlington College trustee at the time, has publicly stated that this was not true.

“The loan was granted and the purchase was then made based on Ms. Sanders’s assurance that the college would receive millions of dollars in pledged donations that it would use to repay the loan,” the New York Times reported in July.

When the donations never materialized, Sanders was forced to resign.

“I don’t believe that there was fraud in terms of willful intent,” Dunn told the Times. “I believe that there was information that was misrepresented.”

According to Brady Toensing, the lawyer who filed a complaint about the issue with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont in January 2016 on behalf of various Catholic parishioners, wrote in a letter to the federal prosecutor’s office that “this apparent fraud resulted in as much as $2 million in losses to the Diocese and an unknown amount of loss to People’s United Bank, a federally financed financial institution.”

“Ms. Sanders and her husband have built political careers pontificating against corporate corruption and claiming to want to help the needy,” the letter continued. According to the Times, it went on to state that the mission of the diocese was to serve the needy and the financial loss as a result of the failed real estate deal would “materially detract from this charitable work.”

Jane and Bernie Sanders have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the deal.

According to a report from Politico in May, the ongoing controversy surrounding the investigation is weighing on Senator Sanders “clouding his outlook” when it comes to discussing another run for president in 2020.

TOM FITTON: “Sessions Should Unrecuse Himself and Clean House”

President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton has been hammering Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation as unconstitutional for months.

Fitton regularly calls for the Mueller witch hunt to be shut down.

Sunday, Fitton said AG Jeff Sessions should unrecuse himself and clean house.

Fitton tweeted, “The rules don’t require Sessions to recuse himself. Give the corruption around Mueller-Comey special counsel operation, Sessions should unrecuse himself and clean house.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions caved to pressure like a coward and recused himself from the Russia investigation because he previously met with Russian Ambassador Kislyak (gasp). CNN recently walked back their fake news story and admitted then-Senator Sessions did nothing wrong when he met with the Russian ambassador.

Reps. Meadows and Jordan concluded in a scathing op-ed last week that since AG Sessions recused himself, he has no control over the Justice Department. It is time for Sessions to start managing in a spirit of transparency to bring all of this improper behavior to light and stop further violations.

If Sessions doesn’t unrecuse himself and take control over the DOJ, he must be replaced. Deputy AG Rosenstein and dirty cop Mueller are out of control and corruption within the agency is still rampant.

It’s time to drain the swamp!

Bizarre Cuba, Castro Propaganda on the Front of NYT Travel: ‘Whatever Their Later Faults…’

<p>The front of the <em>New York Times</em> Sunday Travel page featured some pretty blatant bias by omission, courtesy of contributor Tony Perrottet, on the late Cuban dictators Fidel Castro -- a whitewashing of Communist history well-suited to the paper’s <em>Red Century</em> series of articles that left out the brutal history of Soviet and Chinese communism. The headline over the story, which covered three-quarters of the front of the Travel section: “A Cuban Island That Has Played Both Paradise and Prison.” The subhead: “The Isle of Youth -- which has been both a Communist Utopian getaway and home to a brutal prison that housed Castro for a time -- is a world apart, even by Cuban standards.”</p>

<p>The national press isn't particularly interested in telling the nation how bad the state government's fiscal situation is in Connecticut. Israel (Finally) Bars Foreign BDS Groups from Entering Israel; Obama, Hamas Ally Code Pink ‘Appalled’ at Being Banned

Israel has finally had enough and banned from entering the country foreign groups that support the anti-Israel BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) including the Obama-Hamas terrorist allied American group Code Pink.

Code Pink was one of six US groups banned. Others are: AFSC (American Friends Service Committee), AMP (American Muslims for Palestine), JVP (Jewish Voice for Peace), NSJP (National Students for Justice in Palestine) and
USCPR (U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights).

Other groups from Europe and around the world that are now banned from Israel: AFPS (France-Palestine Solidarity Association), BDS France, BDS Italy, ECCP (The European Coordination of Committees and Associations for Palestine), FOA (Friends of al-Aqsa), IPSC (Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign), Norge Palestinakomitee (The Palestine Committee of Norway), Palestinagrupperna i Sverige (PGS-Palestine Solidarity Association of Sweden), PSC (Palestine Solidarity Campaign), War on Want and BDS Kampagne; BDS Chile, BDS South Africa and BDS National Committee.

The Washington Post, which reported the list, simply described Code Pink as “run by Jewish activists” (partly true) and failed to mention Code Pink’s support for the terrorist group Hamas that wages war on Israel from Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Code Pink is fuming about being banned, posting a statement and numerous tweets on Sunday. The group, whose co-leader Jodie Evans was a major donor and fundraiser for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, appealed to two prominent Jewish Democrat senators, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and Ben Cardin of Maryland.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Hamas literally gave Code Pink the ‘red carpet’ treatment during a 2009 visit to Gaza and gave the group a letter for President Obama. The trip was one of many that Code Pink has taken to Gaza and Israel over the years.

In June 2009 Code Pink made a trip to Hamas-controlled Gaza. According to reports by two participants, Code Pink had such a close relationship with Hamas that the terrorists literally rolled out the red carpet for Code Pink and that a Code Pink leader wore a Hamas hat at a meeting with Hamas.

In an article from the Socialist Worker found using Google Cache, Laura Durkay wrote:

This warm welcome extended right up to the representatives of the Hamas government we interacted with, who treated us like diplomats–which, in a certain sense, we were, since no one from the U.S. government is currently taking up that role.

“At the end of our over-scheduled first full day in Gaza, we were greeted with a hasty announcement: “Freshen up, we’re going to parliament!”

“In the courtyard of the bombed-out Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) building, under a huge white UNICEF tent, our grubby, sweaty and tired delegation received the closest thing Gaza has to an official state welcome, including greetings from Ahmad Bahar, the acting head of the PLC.

“Now, whatever your opinion of Hamas, could you imagine the speaker of parliament in any other country in the world taking time out of his or her schedule to roll out the red carpet (literally!) for a scruffy bunch of antiwar activists?

“But if a red carpet welcome from Hamas–for our delegation of mostly women, led by Medea Benjamin, an American Jew–was not what many of us expected, it was nothing compared to the next night, when three Hamas MPs came back to our hotel to spend an hour and a half with us discussing politics, covering everything from the legitimacy of armed resistance under international law, to the Hamas-Fatah rift, to one-state versus two-state solutions.”

Another participant, Linda Todd, wrote up the June 2009 Code Pink trip in an article published at IsraellyCool last month. Todd reported that a Code Pink leader donned a “Hamas cap” at their meeting with Hamas. She says she was uneasy at how close Code Pink was with Hamas:

One of our first stops after entering the Gaza Strip was to attend a Meet & Greet with local officials. I was very surprised to find that this meant that we were meeting with Hamas. This didn’t make sense to me. I felt that perhaps this was just a formality to be polite, but the green Hamas caps donned by one of the Code Pink group leaders suggested a warmer relationship.”

Todd also added some personal observations of life in Gaza under Hamas:

I had a great time there for those three weeks, but I could feel an almost palpable, heavy presence in the air. There was so much destruction left over from Operation Cast Lead. I couldn’t believe that after so long, there was still so much rubble lying around. It was depressing.

“I was told it was because Israel doesn’t allow building supplies. Fine, but why no clean up? Every question I asked had an answer – and the answers were always about what Israel was withholding.

“Later, much later, when I saw pictures of the concrete lined tunnels burrowing towards Israel, I couldn’t help but remember those crumbled buildings and wonder if the concrete could have been put to better use.

“There were Hamas officers on almost every major intersection, and at many smaller intersections too. They scrutinized every passing car, stopping whoever they chose to question. I was always advised not to look at them, so as not to draw attention to us.

“I thought that was odd. I had heard so much about the oppressive Israeli checkpoints throughout Gaza, and never expected to find similar Hamas installations once Israel had pulled out.”

Several times in her article Todd questions Code Pink’s close relationship with the terror group Hamas:

This was not what I was expecting. Why were Code Pink so friendly with these oppressors? One thing that had drawn me to Code Pink was their apparent rejection of oppression and war, yet I could see this regime certainly qualified as being oppressive.”

“It is tragic to me that this Hamas, who obviously oppresses anyone who dares to disagree with them, would find such friendship in Code Pink or other such activists who claim to be struggling for peace.”

Excerpt from Code Pink’s statement titled, “CODEPINK Appalled at Being Banned from Entering Israel

…CODEPINK takes pride in being recognized as a staunch defender of Palestinian human rights alongside the other five US organizations (19 worldwide) that have also been banned.

Our response to the ban will be to increase all efforts to challenge Israeli policies of occupation and apartheid. We are certain that this ban will undermine its intended goal of covering up Israeli crimes against Palestinians and will help galvanize public opinion for freedom and justice in Palestine. We remain committed to using the BDS nonviolent tactic to reveal corporate complicity in Palestinian human rights violations.

CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin spoke out in response to the blacklist: “It’s outrageous that Israel would ban human rights activists who support a Gandhi-like boycott campaign that has historically been the bedrock of nonviolent social change movements. And some people still call Israel a democracy and justify giving it billions of our tax dollars? Enough.”

CODEPINK co-founder Jodie Evans said, “Israel is obviously threatened by groups like CODEPINK that stand up for the rights of the oppressed. Our efforts to expose the plight of the Palestine people makes us criminals in the eyes of the Israeli government, but only makes us more determined who show who the real criminals are.”…

In 2015, Code Pink activists traveled to Israel where they protested against Israel at the Western Wall.

JERUSALEM – On Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:30 am, Jewish Americans CODEPINK activists, Ariel Gold, of Ithaca, NY and Ariel Vegosen, of Oakland, CA, unfurled a banner near the Kotel (Western Wall) reading, “American Jews support BDS.” Representing the women’s peace organization, Code Pink, the activists goal was to express Jewish opposition to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and endorse the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement as a nonviolent strategy to bring about a just peace in Palestine and Israel.

Gold and Vegosen were in Israel/Palestine for a week long CODEPINK delegation to the West Bank to participate in the Palestinian olive harvest…”

Nancy Pelosi Comes Unglued After Stephen Miller Crushes Jake Tapper – Calls Miller a “White Supremacist” Who “Must Be Removed”

Brilliant White House advisor Stephen Miller absolutely annihilated CNN’s Jake Tapper Sunday morning in a debate about Michael Wolff’s book ‘Fire and Fury’.

It got so bad Tapper cut off the segment and went to commercials.

Since liberals can’t debate facts, they resort to labeling Trump and his allies as white supremacists and Nazis.

On Sunday, Nancy Pelosi immediately attacked Stephen Miller, calling him a “white supremacist” who deserves to be fired.

Nancy Pelosi’s political team tweeted, “The bigoted world view that Bannon pushed remains at the WH. White supremacists still have the ear of Trump and are shaping national policy through their hate-filled lenses. Yes, that means Stephen Miller who must be removed.”

Trump supporters responded to team Pelosi’s attack.

Washington Post Reporter Slaps Down Wolff’s False Claim About Him

<p>Even many reporters from liberal publications are questioning the veracity of Michael Wolff's book of gossip, <em>Fire and Fury</em>. The latest such person who reveals just how laughable the vetting process of Wolff's book was is Mark Berman, a reporter at the <em>Washington Post</em>. Wolff placed Berman among others attending a breakfast at the Four Seasons restaurant with Ivanka Trump. It turns out that Berman was most definitely not there and he had a very good reason for not attending as he revealed to anchor Fredricka Whitfield on <em>CNN Newsroom</em> on Saturday.</p>

ABC Panel Lauds Wolff’s Gossip Despite Agreeing Only ’50 Percent’ Was True

<p>The liberal media were experiencing nirvana on Sunday as they continued their nearly not stop love-fest for the anti-Trump gossip book <em>Fire and Fury</em> by journalist Michael Wolff. Despite the fact that, when pressed, they admit the book was dubiously sourced and filled with easily provable factual inaccuracies, they still claim to their viewers that the book somehow “rings true.” It was the same on ABC’s <em>This Week</em> were Clinton lackey George Stephanopoulos led a largely liberal panel in fawning over the book even as he speculated that only ‘50 percent’ of the book was actually true.</p>
